Rigid polymer construction protects your light from impact while ensuring an "open mouth" for fumble-free re-holstering. I've gone through a few of these holsters over the years so I can give you some honest feedback. The holster looks fine and works well. Yes, the retention clip inside will and does mar some of the finish on the flashlight and after a few years will actually rub off some of the texture on the tail cap. It is metal after all and this is how it keeps the light secure in the holster. For me that's not really an issue as it's a work flashlight and it gets just as scratched up from falls and other mishaps anyway. It holds the light quite secure and I've never had a light fall out. The polymer holds up very well over time and has no real issues. The biggest fault with this item is that after some time the metal retention clip inside will fail and break. It is light and strong, holds the light securely, while giving quick access. You will more than likely use your flashlight more than any other item on your duty belt. I also REALLY like the full loop belt clip with the sliding adjuster that prevents it from sliding off the belt when the belt is undone, and which also completely prevents the holster from coming up with the flashlight when it is deployed. I now have my flashlight riding in this holster continually while I am on duty as a security guard, and I can scarcely feel it there, until I really need it, then out it comes as smoothly as when I read my wristwatch. This is not a cheaply made second rate product, and the price somewhat reflects that, but it will probably outlast both you and the equally excellent Surefire flashlight itself! |
