All of the points on the bag that have straps attached are heavily reinforced. The main thing I noticed when it arrived though is that this bag is BIG. I had glossed over the dimensions when ordering, but take a close look. I visit the Boundary Waters often, and had not been able to find a suitable portage pack for a reasonable (i.e., cheap!) price. I purchased this bag because it was huge and because it seems like it would keep things pretty safe if it were to get dumped in the water. (Which has not happened to me up there, but one storm we ran into made me think it might.) I have used the bag on one weekend canoe trip on a river, and it worked fine for that purpose. Several reviews have said the shoulder straps are not securely enough attached to the bag, and I have found this to be a concern. I am considering reinforcing that area. In all, a fine value. |
