5.0 out of 5 stars Cool, comfortable, and worth every penny., May 18, 2010
I own both the heatgear and coldgear leggings and love them both. The heatgear leggings keep your legs cool under pants, even during the Summer heat, and reduce/eliminate chaffing. I umpire a lot of baseball games and wear these under my plate slacks (and under my shin guards). They work great, and I was surprised that an extra layer of clothing actually kept me cooler in the heat. I've also worn them under my ski pants in the middle of Winter (and under a knee brace) before I found some of the coldgear leggings. They are durable, easy to wash (I use gentle cycle just because I wash them a lot), and they are extremely quick to line dry (like an hour or two). They are definitely "compression" fit, and they do seem to make my legs less prone to aches and pains after working a double-header. I paid $39.99 for mine, and they were worth every penny. I followed the sizing recommendations of the manufacturer, and they fit perfectly (I'm 6'2", 240 lbs. and got the XL's).

I didn't understand why people spent so much money on what I thought were essentially longjohns, but having actually worn them I would say they're well worth the money. These have reduced my recovery time between workouts and have kept me cool and dry. I highly recommend them.

The Under Armour HeatGear Legging Bottoms fit snug but comfortably. I purchased a size Large and I normally wear a "Large" in sweatpants and such, and they fit nicely. They do show off every peak and valley of your bottom, your muscles, and other things, but if you're looking to buy a pair of these then you obviously already know that and either don't care, or you want to show off. I have gotten a compliment or two about my backside while wearing these, so maybe it's not such a bad thing after all!

Like any other Under Armour product, you're paying a bit of a premium for the brand. I've never felt an Under Armour purchase was wasted, but there are likely plenty of alternatives out there for cheaper if you really wanted to save a buck. That said, I'm happy with the quality of this product, so maybe paying a little premium is worth it.
