 very good mixer, By This review is from: Behringer EURODESK SX4882 Ultra-Low Noise Design 48/24-Input 8-Bus In-Line Mixer with Xenyx Mic Preamplifiers, British Eqs And Integrated Meterbridge (Electronics) I've been using this mixer in a Distance Ed studio situation with 22 Shure 393 mics for over 6 months, and have been very pleased with it. It was the only mixer with enough channels for my use which had a reasonable price tag. The nearest competitor was 5 or 6 times as much, and my favorite mixer maker, Carvin, dropped their meter bridge models.I got this mixer because of the meter bridge. In my application, I need to keep track of open mics, and the meter bridge with individual mic levels makes that far easier than running around physically checking each mic. The shure 393s need phantom power, and this mixer handles that easily. The sound is good and the mixer has very low noise levels, which is vital in my application, as this mixer provides the room audio, which is then fed to another program mixer. Any noise would be a very noticeable problem in this configuration. The build quality is generally good, although some features feel a bit cheap. The... My Lead Engineer and I were so pleased with the performance and reflexibility of the SX4882 that I purchased another one and also a smaller version of it. Now all of my Studio is Behringer equipped with amps, effects, and All. I wouldn't even think of paying all that extra money for a Mackie when the SX4882 does everything the Mackie does and more, and even Better. Behringer is OUT-Performing all the competition, and once again on the Rise Up! |
