I read some reviews stating this is pressed particle ....which it is, but for 23$ It looks very nice. The finish they have on it makes it looks very polished and not cheap......but not high end either. I purchased one just like this from Cabellas a few years ago and don't remember the exact price but it was over 30$. That's the first place I went and found the same one I bought was now 50 bucks!!! My husband likes the fact that this has a plate to record the dates etc on the plaque......for those of you that want real wood.... you will have to look in a higher price range....but this will definitely do the job at this price point.....also make sure you have the skull down to a minimum between the antlers so it will fit.......hubby got an 8 pointer (deer) and this will do......anything bigger you will need to find something larger than this. Bought from Amazon Super Saver shipping (purchased some else small to meet the 25$ min)packaging was great arrived on time.
