It's very big inside and is made of quality components. I was able to assemble it myself fairly simply, even though I was six months pregnant. The "barrel" top gives the piece some character and makes it suitable for a nicer living room as well as kid's room. The best part is that the top hinges are designed so that the top will stay open so there is no fear of getting little fingers caught on a closing lid. There was only one of these wooden toyboxes in the store, and I immediately fell in love with it. True, some of the plastic toyboxes may be a little bigger (and cheaper), but the wooden toybox matched the decor of the baby's room, plus it's very classy, not at all gaudy like some baby items can be.It's been nine months now, and I still love it. The design is very attractive, and even better, it fits a lot of toys. The toybox has a hinge so the lid won't slam down on tiny fingers. If you look at the picture of the box, you can see there are openings between the lid and the bottom half of the box so if there *were* fingers still on the box if it were closed, fingers wouldn't get stuck (this doesn't apply to the two corners however). Read more 8 of 9 people found the following review helpful  Very cheap and light weight., Amazon Verified Purchase Product looks amazing in pictures but when it arrived we noticed immediately how cheap and flimsy it was. In a couple months it will break where the hinges are because the screws are so small and no wood to screw into for a tight secure fit. We kept it because we did not want to bother trying to return it. The outer screws that are visible are brass(gold) and the hinges are silver and the hinge that secures it from going all the way back is some kind of antique brass which itself will break in a month or two. Don't buy. |
